The Foodpod is a modern silicone cooking tool designed to save time when boiling, blanching or steaming by conveniently containing, removing and draining foods like eggs, veggies, shellfish and more in one easy-to-use vessel. Saves time and water when preparing a meal, keeps foods together for easy removal and even cooking and acts as a strainer, reserving the cooking liquid. Easily holds up to a dozen large eggs or several heads of broccoli. Built-in grip clip allows for convenient removal from water. Simply place foods in the Foodpod and put in water to cook. Lift from water, let drain. Remove and enjoy!
I’m not sure what intrigues me more. The soggy alien shape or the fact that I won’t need to strain my boiled food. Thanks for sharing.

It’s like a clever colander with a handle! I like this

mmh sounds like a good thing. only the lid does not really close with the rubber clip on the pot, which would be especially bad for steaming. but i am sure you can use it without securing the alien (my first thought aswell) on the edge of the pot.

I am amused! How much extra time will be saved by not flipping the pot into a colander?

This looks like some kind of mutant jellyfish, and so I am attracted to it (of course), but I have a question: Once you lift the pod out of the water, where do you put it? It will still be dripping water everywhere, won’t it?

I love my foodpod! I also wondered about the 2 questions above: 1) how is it better than a colander, I would say my boiled eggs don’t roll out and crack when I pour out the water, and 2) yest it drips, but only like a colander, no worse, and it fits in my cabinet better than a colander. It can do things that are harder with a colander too, like when I make broth I just lift the bones and veggie chunks out of the pot. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my colander for pasta and other stuff, but this is cool.

It’s a great concept, but I don’t like the idea of boiling my food in plastic.

silicon is not plastic – it’s the same substance as glass
