I initially had the video embedded right into the post but unfortunately it just starts playing right away. Very annoying. Please click here or on the image above to watch the WhopperFreakout.

  1. Did you know that Burger King withdraw from French Market 10 years ago (1997)?
We now must go to UK, Switzerland, US, Canada or Morocco to find our Whopper !!!

  2. Interesting viral marketing.

BTW, I know this is probably not something you can control and it’s not a huge deal, but I don’t like that this video automatically starts playing the minute you navigate to the website. It’s kind of loud and startling if you aren’t prepared for it (especially since it is several posts down the page now).

In other words: I like the video, but let the viewer decide whether turn it on.

  3. Corporate crap. Thanks.

  4. I’m a little unclear why this post is here. Did BK pay you to put this up? This doesn’t seem to jive with the interesting intelligent swissmiss I’m used to.

  5. I don’t get it either. It’s just crappy corp. stuff.

  6. Steve: BK did not pay me to put this up. The campaign made me look and it seems to be an interesting sign of our times that even a brand like BK would fuel the news sensationalism that is happening here in the US for advertising purposes. Sorry if you don’t agree with me.

  7. as a regular reader, it did seem like that post was out of left field. but i get it now.

the ad is great and terrible at the same time.

my only problem with the concept, is that they’re preaching to the choir… or at least taking whoppers away from the choir. they show reactions from people that already love the product. it’s not like they were interviewing random people on a random street. they were interviewing die-hard customers IN THE STORE, and for me, it doesn’t make the product any more attractive.
