It’s the time of the year again where I wake up at 2am and a gulp down a bottle of water as our bedroom air is as dry as a desert. Here goes another winter where I am dreaming of owning this beauty of a humidifier by PlusMinusZero. It is called Humidifier Ver 3, designed by Naoto Fukasawa. Given the pricetag of nearly $400, I am more likely going to buy this one, over at Target.
Ha! Yes, I have the Crane Drop Shape Humidifier, but I didn’t get mine at Target. It came from Bed Bath & Beyond. I’d gladly trade-up to Fukasawa’s Ver 3, if he so cared to gift me one. – cheers

The downside of both those humidifier is that they actually boil water, which uses up a lot of energy. I highly recommend this one http://www.stadlerform.ch/products/stadler-form/oskar it’s a new technique where the water is just “blown” into the air, more like if you would have bunch of wet cloth hanging in the room with a fan in front of it. It uses up way less electricity with similar effect. I have it run 24/7. Life saving in Berlin, Germany.
ah, and: it’s swiss made ;)

Oh, and it’s called Oskar! How can you not fall in love with a Humifider with that name? Thank you Sven!

Love the Crane and it is filter-less which saves $$

I agree with Sven. We just bought an Oskar and love it. Amazingly smart design.

our place is so dry we started getting nose bleeds at night. we got this humidifier because it didn’t look like a humidifier.
it’s totally horrible.
the green light is super bright and annoying at night, and the unit also feels the need to “tell” you when it stops working – again, fantastic for “in the middle of the night”. beep beep beep, flash flash flash.
so loud that our daughter started screaming thinking there were aliens in her room.
the instructions are in helpful japanese.
…but, it does look great!

i find it interesting that a lot of the reviews praise it for being filter-less yet target sells a filter made for the crane drop shape?

You only use the filter in the Crane if you have hard water issues or just use distilled water. Its filter-less with normal or with not-hard-water
