LetterMpress: A Virtual Letterpress

I just backed this supercool Kickstarter project called LetterMpress, A Virtual Letterpress on Your iPad. I can’t wait to show this to my almost 5 year old!

I love the look of the app, and like the idea of providing wider access to the letterpress aesthetic, but why would you want to force users to set their compositions using reversed type when there is no longer a physical requirement for that? That’s just taking the metaphor too far, adding mental burden on the user when it’s just not necessary.
