Hi Tina, I’m a long time reader and really enjoy your posts every day.
I have a question spurred on by your item today on whether designers should learn to code.
I’m trying to steer my college aged kids to a good way to learn to design if you’re learning today.
If you were going to have your own kids learn to design would you have them learn a visual method (like laying out a website in Photoshop) or a code based method?

Should coders learn to design then, maybe? Learning to code is an absolute necessity if you want to be a good web designer (key word is good). You’ll understand the limitations and loopholes and how a design works when translated into code. You can have infinite possibilities at your fingertips.
