The Man Who Planted Trees is a wonderful animation of the fictional short story by the French writer Jean Giono about Elzéard Bouffier, a shepherd who single-handedly reforested a desolate region of France. The acclaimed film was directed by Frédéric Back.

I love this book/animated movie. We read and watched it in my Environmental Literature class in college. Such a great tale!

The story is really touching. But i came across a real example of tree planting man. Please see the video below. It is also very inspiring
