We just went to China last month and were hoping to use this but quickly found out that the Chinese government blocks all things Google (in addition to Facebook, Instagram, CNN, and others). The app, itself, is very useful though. It would be very beneficial anywhere outside of China.
You can download languages onto your device so you can use the Google Translate app when you’re offline. This is helpful when you don’t have an Internet connection.
