WaterTables

I can’t wait for summer. To the point that I’ve been researching outdoor furniture and summer kids toys like a mad woman. (I know, I am a little over eager, we’re still weeks away) I have been searching for kids water tables and was highly underwhelmed by the plastic monsters that are being sold. But check out the Sanak-ji Water Table. Granted, way more expensive than the plastic ones, but a pleasure to look at.

Floating Desk

Unplggd posted this beauty of a minimalist desk. Ideal for a small (NYC) apartment.

Come and Draw Table

This kids drawing table makes total sense AND looks fantastic. It’s called Come and Draw and was created by Goethenburg based designer Tiang Tiang. I love it so much I’d like a custom version with red as the accent color to use it as a conference-brainstorm-session-table in our new studiomates wing.

I found it over on Bloesem Kids.

UPDATE: Now available for purchase here.

(Thanks Lisa)

Lace Carpet

This giant Lace Carpet makes me laugh. It reminds me of the ones my grandma used to make but in small, very small. This giant version feels a bit dada, or is it just me?

Puzzle Pouf

These Puzzle Poufs are a cool idea for any kids room. Combine them like a puzzle to make a sofa.

Componibili Laundry Basket

My studiomate Jennifer blogged this modular laundry basket called Componibili yesterday. She is suggesting you use it as toy storage! Brilliant! I was instantly thinking they would make good recycling containers. This could work in our studio!

Conference Table Quest

I am currently researching sleek, minimal looking conference tables for our new conference room. Ideally I’d like it to be white and foldable. I started a Conference Room Pinterest Board where I am collecting my finds.

My current favorite is the Pratt Desk. Do you happen to have any recommendations? If so, would you mind to leave them in a comment below?

Slot-in Bookcase

Shoebox Dwelling is officially one of my new favorite blogs. The Slot-In Bookcase they posted today made me gasp. German designer Florian Gross has created Konnex. It has all attributes I want to see in a bookcase: It is light, modular, stackable, easy to put together, fully customizable in any room, big or small. Two thumbs up!

Box Light

Box Light is a lamp that can be manually adjusted by sliding the box open or closed. Lovely! Designed by Jonas Hakaniemi.

Work / Play Table

I am starting to have a new obsession: Multifunctional Tables and Desks. Take this table called Doppelleben. As its name suggests, it has a ‘double life’: Play on top, work below. The tabletop consists of two layers. If you need to use the lower layer, you can slide two lightweight panels down the sides. And when the work is done (or is safe to be interrupted), the panels come up creating a surface for dining and entertaining. This working/dining combo is merely a suggestion, of course. You can use the lower layer tabletop as a bookshelf, a utensil storage, a display for your collectables, or in any way you see fit.

Smart? YES!

Slow Sofa

Slow Sofa, by Dutch designer Frederik Roijé, removes the need for a separate coffee table, integrating it in a single piece of furniture. It can be reconfigured in various arrangements, including a corner sofa. Parts include a table, storage, cushions and a frame support that can be used for seating or as a daybed.

Slow Sofa. Yes, please!

Treasury Table

Every now and then I come across a piece of furniture that makes my heart beat a little faster. It just happend now, when I discovered the Treasury Table over on bltd. What a brilliant concept. It combines my love for ‘organizing things into boxes’ and minimal, clean design. A total winner in my book!

Rainbow Headboard

How incredibly charming is this rainbow headboard! Tried to find the original post over on the Tumblr blog that this Pinterest post quoted as the source. Couldn’t find it. Oy!

Tolix Stool/Bedside Table

This stool/bedside table by Tolix made me look.

Ola-Table

The Ola Table by Petter Danielson and Oscar Ternbom of AKKA is making my heart beat faster. A light-weight folding table, made of aluminium, that is easy to handle and beautiful. According to Minimalissimo it will be manufactured by MATERIA and will be launched at the Stockholm furniture fair in February.

This would be perfect in our studio, for when we need an extra desk or two when we have a lot of visitors. Brilliant. Beautiful. I want two.

It’s a bookshelf. It’s a desk.

Trick by Sakura Adachi, designed for Campeggi, is a book case that turns into a table with two chairs. Nifty!

An Elephant in the Snow

Elephant is a beautiful chair by Kristalia. Apparently also works as a sled. Check out the video below.

(Oh, how much do I miss hearing that ‘walking on snow sound’ that you can hear in the video?)

Architectural Range Hood

Architects Lhoas & Lhoas renovated a typical Brussels’s house and decided to go custom and designy for the kitchen hood. They managed to turn this common functional object into an abstract sculpture. Absolutely beautiful.

(thank you Tom)

Raumgestalt Woodtower

The Raumgestalt Woodtower is a nice take on storing your fireplace wood in your living room. I love its sculptural quality.

REcreate

Katie Thompson is the force behind REcreate, a furniture line made from upcycled objects. Totally charming, no?

Blow Sofa is perfect for people living a nomadic life style. It is made from 100% recycled paper dunnage bags with a metal rack and rubber straps. It is easy to transport when flat and simple to inflate. Each section canbe personalized with a pen and if the cushion gets dirty, it is inexpensive to replace. For inside and outside use – the bags are water resist.
