How lovely is this skinny Luft Wall Shelf by Anna Salonen? Only 9 cm wide, it will find its place almost everywhere. The depth is such that the placed books, DVDs or CDs do not completely disappear but remain partly visible. Naturally LUFT can be mounted also crosswise and so serves as storage for small utensils.
Plastic Nostalgia
This piece by Raw Edges was inspired by the specific design language of Fisher Price Toys from the 1970’s. Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay have chosen one of the ultimate symbols of high quality, brightly coloured, highly finished plastic, which during theirs and many childhoods typified homes across the world. Fisher Price toys with their plastic properties of durability and myriad shape and colour possibilities were seen on every nursery floor, a positive symbol of a plastic manufacturing age.
I *love* it!

Stylish Toy Storage anyone?
Bulles de Nua were designed by Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy for Red Editions. I agree with Jennifer, I think these could make for very aesthetically pleasing toy storage in the living room!
Embrace by John Green
John Green’s Embrace Shelf/Table had me gasp for air upon seeing it over at MinorDetails. Embrace can start off as a great table and bench for junior then a shelf/bench for the big kids down the road. Yay for adaptable furniture.
Lodovico Bernardi
This beauty of a minimalist table folds seriously flat. Designed by italian designer Lodovico Bernardi.
Tube Desk Lamp
I think I might just have found my swissmiss studio desk lamp: Tube Desk Lamp. A minimalist beauty.
STECK_DICH shelving system
STECK_DICH shelving system is mounted very easily from several units, no tools are required. Although it appears quite delicate, the designer claims STECK DICH stands safely on the ground. Oh, I love this. Simplicity at its best!
Stylish Trolleys
Oh my, I just fell in love with these Trolleys by Müller Möbelfabrikation! I wish we had these in our studio, instead we have some slightly lame but at least affordable IKEA ones. Me want! (For more info click on the individual image)
stacking bed for kids
I *love* this stackable children’s bed from Müller Möbelwerkstätten.

School Day Desk
Lovely, simple, minimal and retro: School Day Desk.
transformer
Philippe Malouin designed this child’s chair turned single bed called Tent Sofa. I agree with MinorDetails, it’s a great solution for sleepovers and playtime.
Baby in Table
This ingenious table is the subject of my latest post over at Nesting, Cookie Magazine’s blog, where I am a contributor: Baby in Table! Now that baby #2 is on the way, this table seems perfect! And the fact that the chair doubles as a step stool is simply brilliant.

Attitude Chair
New York designer Deger Cengiz has created a chair with an extra support that swings out when the chair is tipped back: Attitude Chair. Made me smile.
IKEA Kids Slide
During yesterday’s very unsuccessful trip to IKEA (what I wanted was discontinued or out of stock) I did come across a new product that would make our daughters heart jump: VIRRE Slide with Guard Rail. I actually have a feeling that the back could also function as a small desk. Living in small NYC apartments, you have to think multipurpose…
chair whore
A blog entirely dedicated to the beauty of chairs: Chair Whore.
Stretch Shelf
Pete Oyler, a recent graduate of the rhode island school of design is the mastermind behind this Stretch Shelf. They are made of cast rubber and machined aluminum and are, essentially, giant rubberbands that function as wall shelves. Wonderful!
Staple
Seemingly weightless, STAPLE is typical of the best in modern interior design. A solid wood coat rack, it quite simply rests against the wall: minimalist Zen style and top-level craftsmanship in wood. It’s ideal if rooms are small but the flow of visitors is larger: STAPLE can be stacked to save space when it’s not needed. Before the guests arrive, the vertically stacked units are simply rested next to one another against the wall – and coat storage space multiplies immediately!
Coat hangers can be attached to the horizontal rod at the front, and as an option three metal coat hooks can be attached to the rod at the rear.
Avalon Table
This beauty of an expandable table made my heartbeat go a little faster: Avalon Table by Dan Hodler.
