Oliver Jeffers…
I officially have a new favorite kid’s book author: Oliver Jeffers. My wonderful office mate Jennifer brought in a stack of his books and they keep me from focusing on work… (Must read. Must flip through pages. Must read again!) Lost and Found totally has me smile. Ella, being a huge penguin lover, would love the story. Also, “How To Catch A Star” looks fantastic. And the “The Incredible Book Eating Boy“, you simply can’t top. I just put Oliver Jeffers’ on my list of people I’d like to have ‘coffee with someday’. What a talent!
Pippi Longstocking on my mind…
This song has been stuck in my head all weekend. We had friend’s visiting and their 4 year old, Yuki, kept humming the tune. Makes me want to see the show again… Oh, the memories!

Magna Tiles rock.
Magna Tiles are hands-down the most played with toy in our household. We got them from our lovely friend Kim and little did we know that they’ll provide endless hours of building fun. I was honestly a little shocked when I looked them up to potentially add on to our set, when I saw how pricy they are, but now, I can honestly say, they are worth every single penny. It’s such a fab gift to any 2 year old and up. Make sure to get the Clear ones, it’s fun to see ‘through’ the tiles and see what’s inside.
Here to make friends
This “Here to make friends T-Shirt” made me smile! I will have to get a kids size for our little Ella as she JUST started daycare. This is the perfect message!

Food for Thought Lunchbox
This “Food for Thought” lunch box has been specially designed to hold fruit whilst protecting it from bruising or overheating. Children will be able to enjoy lunchbox fruit at its best which will in turn enocurage them to reach their 5-a-day target. A unique, colour changing thermo-spot on the underside of the box helps achieve this by indicating when food has overheated. This handy lunchbox also comes with 2 plastic pots, designed for holding grapes, nuts or diced fruit. It’s also dishwasher safe, but if you want it to last longer, then you should wash it by hand.
My friend Jennifer uses it for her 4 year old and it’s so cool!
The Incredible Book Eating Boy
Henry loves books–eating them, that is. The more books he eats, the smarter he becomes, prompting him to devour them at an alarming rate. Henry imagines that if he keeps eating at his current pace, he could eventually become the smartest person on earth. Unfortunately, he starts to get sick from eating so many books, and everything he has learned becomes all jumbled up. The Incredible Book Eating Boy
Discovered through fabulous Jennifer and her daughter P.
play station
John stopped by and our little Ella pointed at him at one point and said: Swing! Swing! I didn’t get it until I looked closer and yes, indeed, his t-shirt sported a tree with a swing, titled “Play Station“. Made me smile!
Children Left Alone at Home, Worriedly
Many parents with young children dream of the day they can walk out the door without a baby sitter, turning a stroll with the dog or a trip to the bank into an exhilarating adventure. But unlike so many aspects of child care that are clearly laid out by pediatrician’s decree or government regulation, this is a rite of passage without clear guidelines. New York, like most states, has no law stipulating an age of aloneness, though parents can be charged with reckless endangerment if tragedy befalls children while they are home without supervision.
