jacket for loners
Takkiainen (a combination of two Finnish words: takki, a coat, and takiainen, a bur) is a jacket for lonely or bored people. It is designed to help the wearer get in contact with others. Since we brush against each other every day as we move around the city, we can use our clothes as a medium for meeting new people. The jacket is covered with Velcro strips that form alternating hook and pile stripes. When these materials touch each other, they grab onto each other. The user can be connected with other loners simply by walking around in the jacket. Even babies can be attached to their parents.

football tape
I am thrilled about DWR now selling designy kids stuff (DWRjax). The football tape made me smile:
Designed to wrap around old newspaper or other scrap material, the Football Tape encircles the wadded core until it resembles a wrinkled soccer ball. This lets a child have double pleasure—mummifying something in tape and making an object to play with.
creature co-op
These creatureco-op plush toys totally make my day! Their names are hysterical! And their descriptions almost made me fall of my chair. Rocky Racoon and Klops are my favorites. Check them out!

Yay! “Peanut” got its first gift last night, from our dear friends Vivien and Josh: An organic burp and bib set with a peanut illustration on it. Love it! I especially like the packaging – one could send it right in that box. Smart!
