The Invisible Dog Art Space in Brooklyn is having a grand Store opening on friday April 23rd, 2010 and will be curated by Steven and William Ladd.
If you’re not familiar with the Invisible Dog, read up. It’s a vibrant new Art Space in Cobble Hill Brooklyn and I am thrilled that Lucien, the director, decided to add a store into the mix.
Also, this saturday, April 24th, twenty-seven artists will be opening their artist studio doors to visitors.

Our studio neighbor Jessi Arrington decided to have a Rainbow Birthday last friday. Everyone at our studio and theirs was asked to come in wearing their favorite color. But what’s a birthday girl like Jessi to do that simply can not decide on a favorite color? (Yes, she loves rainbows) Well, she decided to change outfits/color every hour. Yes, Jessi is fabulous.
Pictaculous is a handy color-palette generator. Say you have an image you love, but you’re not sure what colors to use with it. Just upload the image from your computer―or if you’re on the go, snap one from your mobile device and send it along―and Pictaculous will analyze your picture and turn around a matching color palette, hex codes and all. You can even download an Adobe swatch file. It’s that simple.
The Film Society of Lincoln Center is currently celebrating Social Change and Sexuality in Swedish Cinema, 1913-2010.
The list of movies is impressive. I think I would enjoy watching Fanny and Alexander with by Ingmar Bergman from 1982.

CreativeMornings? ‘CreativeMornings’ is a monthly morning gathering of creative types. Each event includes a 10 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am. The whole thing closes down at 10am. The events are hosted at studios/gallery spaces in NYC. Dennis Crowley, a huge Banksy fan, launched a secret Banksy badge on Foursquare that fans are only now discovering. When you check in this weekend at any of the movie theaters where the film is playing (ie San Fran, New York, LA, Palo Alto, Berkeley, and Palo Alto) and mention the word “Banksy” in a shout, it unlocks the Banksy Fan badge. I am not a Foursquare user or fan but this made me smile. I am all for Easter Eggs in Apps.

I am part of a brandnew blog project called HowdyHeidi. It’s a first collaboration between Switzerland Tourism and myself.
Switzerland Tourism NYC approached me last year with the idea of starting a visual archive and resource for people interested in everything swiss. They came up with the name, HowdyHeidi and I did the branding and site design. Fabulous John Ford did his usual code magic and voila, we are up and running!
