TeuxDeux featured on Mashable

What an honor to have our TeuxDeux To-Do app mentioned on Mashable as one of 18 Online Productivity Tools for Your Business! Yay!

Not familiar with TeuxDeux? It’s a simple, designy, browser-based to-do app that I designed and my studio mates Evan and Cameron of FictiveKin developed. The response has been amazing: We launched about 5 weeks ago and have close to 60k users. (!) And yes, we are working on the iPhone app and are close to releasing a desktop Air app. Sit tight!

Kelley Deal Scarfes

Kelley Deal just uploaded some new one-of-a-kind Felted Wool Scarfes made from old sweaters. They usually sell out within hours and I completely understand why. (I own one and love it!)

If I could wish for any speaker it would be….

At today’s CreativeMornings I asked the following question: If you could wish for any speaker it would be…. See more answers over on flickr.

Did you attend but we didn’t capture your answer? Or do you simply have a good suggestion for an upcoming CreativeMornings speaker, please leave your suggestion in a comment below.

(thank you sara, for taking the photos)

Today’s CreativeMornings with Michael Bierut

Amazing Michael Bierut was today’s CreativeMornings speaker and boy did he set the bar high for any upcoming events. Galapagos was jam-packed with approx 300 attendees, attentively listening to Michael’s brandnew talk about ‘Clients’. A few weeks back, he asked me if I had anything specific in mind for him to talk about, and as I had a particularly bad client experience that day, I basically said: “I would love to hear your wisdom when it comes to dealing and handling clients!” Very much to my surprise, Michael whipped together a fantastic talk about just that. I can not wait to share the talk with you once the video is ready. (For now, you can check out previous talks over at vimeo.com/creativemornings.)

If you would like to read up on some of the things Michael Bierut had to say in his talk, please refer to the below write-ups:

A big thank you to Blurb and Behance for sponsoring breakfast. (Lucky us, Behance handed out their brandnew line of action products which will only go on sale next week! Whee!)

A big virtual wave to Galapagos and their team for hosting this morning’s event. Can a venue be any cooler? Make sure to sign up with their Mailing List so you stay on top of cool happenings at Galapagos DUMBO.

Jon Tan of Analog, located in Bristol UK was our virtual guest this morning. Make sure to check out his blog filled with web typography goodness.

And a big thank you goes to Roland for filming and my dear friend Sara Wasilausky for shooting the morning and Brian Luckey for color-correcting the shots. No idea what I would have done without you all!

You can see the photos of this mornings event over at flickr.

TAT augmented ID

During an interesting Sandbox Dinner last night, David from Holstee mentioned this Augmented ID, a TAT concept that visualizes the digital identities of people you meet in real life. With a mobile device and face recognition software from Polar Rose, Augmented ID enables you to discover selected information about people around you. All users control their own augmented appearance, by selecting the content and social network links they want show to others. Modifying your augmented ID is easier than fixing your hair in real life and, of course, TAT Cascades will make sure you look great!

CreativeMornings Video: Charlie Todd

Our speaker at the December 2009 CreativeMornings was Charlie Todd of Improv Everywhere hosted at the fantastic Invisible Dog Art Space in Brooklyn. It was one of our most humorous CreativeMorning’s ever, we had many good laughs. Enjoy Charlie’s presentation in the video below, thanks to Roland Lazarte who once again has been generously offering his video and editing skills. Thank you Roland!

NEW! Syndicated Feed Sponsorship

I am happy to announce a new Weekly Syndicated Feed Sponsorship on swissmiss which we’ll be kicking off next week with Carbonmade.com.

Here’s what it is all about: Become a swissmiss sponsor and get the chance to promote your company, product or service directly to swissmiss readers.

The sponsorship price is $850 for one week. Here’s what you get:

A short sponsorship post about your company/service/product at the beginning of the week. Since this is not an ad but an actual post, it will reach people using an RSS reader as well as regular visitors to the site. There are currently 40,000+ RSS subscribers and monthly pageviews to the site average around 900,000. You’ll be added to the sponsor category and remain on the site indefinitely.

Email me to schedule a sponsorship post or ask any questions you might have.

A big thank you to Carbonmade, the amazing online portfolio site, for being our first sponsor.

I am fully aware that some of you might not approve of these paid posts in my stream, understood. I respect your opinion in this matter but would like you to try to understand my reasoning behind this decision. This little family is about 4-5 weeks away of welcoming another family member into this world and I want to make sure I can keep the blog up while I am on maternity leave (and in the future). I spend a good 2-3 hours a day on this site and I need to be able to justify this time spent blogging while also being able to feed my family. Another route would have been to plaster my site with ads, which of course, I am not going to do. Having a sponsored post, once a week, seemed like the best and most unobtrusive solution. I hope this makes sense. Thank you all for being such loyal readers!

Amazing “Willysphere” – a new sandcarving tool

Sand Shapers from ID Selection are the latest toy for the beach and in the sand box at home. By moving the Sand Shaper in a circular movement, the most beautiful spheres can be created. By combining the different sizes, it is possible to create all kinds of funny shapes. Due to the simple action, the Sand Shapers can be used by children from the age of 3.

Lost Generation

Lost Generation is a palindrome video that reads the same backwards as forward, but has a totally different meaning. The video was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old. The contest was titled “u @ 50” by AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause.

Ji Lee: The Transformative Power of Personal Projects

Bored with his ad agency gig and the uninspiring work he was producing, Ji Lee – now Creative Director of Google Creative Lab – decided to take matters into his own hands in 2002. The result was the ad-spoofing Bubble Project, in which Lee placed blank speech bubbles on ads around New York City. The masses responded and the project went viral, gaining Lee recognition and ultimately forwarding his professional career. Here, Lee talks about how he created, financed, and marketed the project single-handedly.

If ever you have the chance to see Ji Lee present in person, please do. He is truly inspiring and I couldn’t agree with him more about the The Transformative Power of Personal Projects.

CB2 Metal Trunks

I flipped through the new CB2 Catalog last night and was amazed at the amount number of cool new items they put out. These Metal Trunks would make a nice little accesory in a kids room.
