My fabulous longdistance roommate (yes, that’s what we call each other) Bridget Butch of BBLinks is currently featured over on DesignMilk. Yay! Jaime asked her to pick five things that she’d like to share. And it is no surprise that her picks are fantastic. Check them out here: Friday Five with Bridget Butch of BB-Blog
Charming Jake Bronstein took me on a Brooklyn Furniture Shopping Mission. And while we were looking for parking, he asked me some questions. Watch the video below or over on Fiestamovement.

Wonderful Liz Danzico asked established designers what one piece advice they would give an aspiring designer. Fantastic! Watch all of the answers here.
I fully agree with Jon Kolko’s advice: “Have passion—have undying, unending passion for what it is you do”

Last Year’s Model was created by Anil Dash and is trying to save the planet through sheer laziness. Last year’s model’s members love cool gadgets as much as anybody else. They just want to be thoughtful about the stuff they have bought. Even the most cutting-edge, tech-savvy geeks in the world are choosing to hang on to their phones or their iPods that still work just fine. (I still haven’t upgraded my big clunky 2nd generation iPod. Not kidding!)
What about you? Are you sticking with last year’s model?

Impasse, by Bram Schouw. Without words, we’re left to consider whether love and attraction can break through the impasse of human intolerance.

Jake Bronstein began a whisper chain that successfully passed through 59 people, a new world record. With his girlfriend Kristina Hoge completely unaware of the plan, Bronstein sent the message “Kristina, will you marry me?” around a roomful of strangers. After the proposal passed through 59 people, a random stranger whispered the message in the ear of a completely shocked Hoge. She accepted onstage in front of a jubilant, tearful crowd. No wedding date has been set.
Update: Bronstein set the record on July 14, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present to witness the feat.
Update 2: Original post of the proposal over at the Universal Record Database.

I am in love with the “Daily Aesthetics” collection that gets its inspiration by everyday food containers.
I saw this Braid Back Tee a while back at a fair and it stuck with me. (If only Species by the Thousands would take a better shot than this. Trust me, it looked really cool.) The idea is simply brilliant. Know someone that just cut off all their long hair? Get them this tshirt!
