I saw Steve Lambert speak last night at the “Anti Advertising Salon” at welcometomeet.com, organized by generous and fabulous Marc and Sara Schiller. Today, I spot a post linking to Steve’s work over at Chris Glass’ fab blog. I love when worlds collide.
Armin Vit and his wife Bryony have a new ‘baby’: FPO is a blog dedicated to both the visual stimulus and the detailing of the development and production of printed matter: Annual reports, books, business cards, stationery suites, collateral materials, posters, packaging and anything else where ink meets substrate.
The content of FPO will be gathered by submissions from readers as well as by the findings Armin and Bryony make online. They will do their best to show the most recent work produced, so that the blog doesn’t feel like you have seen everything before. Whenever possible they will have the full scope of production details and project overview but they will also post projects where we are unable to gather all that information when they think they are worth sharing despite the lack of minutia.
Wonderful Idea! Hat tip! FPO
Last week, I cam close to hugging the lovely chap that delivered and installed a GENEVA XL in our studio. I kept bouncing up and down, snapping pictures going YAY! I must have *so* annoyed the heck out of him.
We have now been using the XL for a good week and we give it a 12 thumbs up. (That’s how many thumbs are in this studio!) Even though it comes with built in radio and CD Player, we mostly stream Pandora stations from our iPhone’s all day long. The sound is fantastic and the piece is a beauty and a real conversation starter. Now, every morning when I enter the studio, I say hi to both our Ideapaint wall and our red little friend, the GENEVA XL! See all pictures of the unboxing here.
On a sidenote: GENEVA is having a contest where you can win one of their fantastic stereos: genevasoundcontest.com

Megan is a designer and writer currently rooted in Detroit, though she’ll soon be relocating to Greensboro, Alabama. In preparation for total immersion into what remains one of the poorest counties in the US, she is selling everything that she owns. She created a website to help tho achieve this: goodbyewafflemaker.com

My fab developer John and I launched a new site last night for a NYC based Green Roof Service called Convert. I not only designed the site but also had the opportunity to help my client find an appropriate name for their business. When they came to me, they did business under the name of New York Green Roof, which was simply too generic and not memorable. After a long discovery process the client picked ‘Convert’ which not only perfectly expresses what they do (converting roofs) but also entails the word green (vert). I am happy how this little gem of a site turned out. Yay for launching new sites! Yay Internet!

David Friedman photographed Art Fry, the inventor of the Post-it Note, for an ongoing photo project he is doing about inventors. After the shoot, he asked if he’d ever seen the Sticky Note Experiments video by Eepybird (the Mentos and Diet Coke guys). It turned out he hadn’t.
David filmed his reaction as he watched it:

If you haven’t already seen it, this is the video he was watching:
